Thanks to new funding facilitated by the Papakura Local Board, Papakura Toy Library has added a new rage of Cultural and Sensory toys to their library collection. As a community-run toy Library, the grant is a much-needed boost to the Toy Library, its members and the community it serves.
Here are just some of the new toys we have been able to purchase from the grant supplied by Auckland Council.
We aimed to have high quality sensory and cultural toys to provide to our members.
The new sensory toys are amazing, and we hope that all our children, especially our children with special needs, will be able to thrive off them. The new toys have been specially chosen to help develop and excite the senses.
Our new cultural costumes/puzzles & games to encourage play, learning and discussions around our Maori heritage.
Thank you to our beautiful models for modelling these shiny new toys for us.
We express our gratitude to Rachel Gilmore for your work towards this, and all our Volunteer Committee for their efforts and of course our wonderful librarian Jasmine for going above and beyond with the Toy Library & getting these toys into the system.
We are in the process of adding these new toys to our library catalogue and will be available to loan from the library in the coming weeks. We encourage our members to visit the library and check them out.
Please note that these toys cannot be reserved and will be made available to loan on a first in first served basis.
